Both red and white flocs are left to age for 9 to 10 months in oak barrels made of Gascony durmast oak.

Floc de Gascogne Rosé

Always serve chilled and take it with cheese – even the strongest cheddar – you will not believe the way this combination works – but also try it with fruit, strawberries and sugar, honeydew melon, delicious! Then try it with chocolate – WOW! Stunningly good with Christmas cake too!

Soils: Côtes de Sarragachies, well exposed light soil that ensure a fine quality of grape juice.

Vines:

  • Tannat: foot is purple hue
  • Cabernet Sauvignon: black, high colour vine developing complex aromas in its fruit, reminiscent of blackcurrant
  • Cabernet Franc: black vine whose fruit have a raspberry flavour in which other pleasant fragrances are also detectable.
  • Merlot: black vine that likes mixed clay and limestone soils, whose fruit have a rich taste with a high plant sugar content.

Blending the fruit of these vines (50% Tannat, 45% Cabernet and 10% Merlot) confers its purple colour to our Floc rosé, and ensures it also has a raspberry bouquet and a taste reminiscent of berries.

This Rosé liqueur wine (16/17 % Vol) is made by muting partially fermented wine and selected armagnacs with a minimum alcohol strength of 52 % Vol, all from the best Bas-Armagnac vineyards.

The partially fermented wine is the finest quality of the ‘fleur d’Armagnac’ containing a minimum of 170g of sugar per litre, the sugar being added either prior to fermentation or at the very beginning of the process in order to ensure improved alcohol-sugar balance.

Only the best vines have been selected and matched with their most suitable types of soil. The vineyards have been classified by the INAO (national controlled origin Institute).
